II used to work and live in Burlington, VT and still have strong ties to this hip and artsy town in New England. A DJ friend inspired me to start my own radio show at the local college radio station WRUV FM Burlington. This station hosts a profound music library which provided me with easy access to albums of diverse genres.
I co-founded “Paper or Plastic” as a weekly live radio show in the Fall of 2014.
I’ve been overhearing the electronic register playing the beats while the sandwiches, drinks, fruits and veggies got scanned in. So, in the Radio Show, we broadcasted an eclectic mix of fresh, organic produce from the electronic register.
Shortly after I moved back to Austria, the pandemic related Winter lockdown started in the Fall of 2020. So I had the idea to bring Paper or Plastic back to life, I adapted the format for Radio FREIRAD, and am now playing music and telling stories of people from New England and especially Vermont, who took bold decisions and live unconventional lifestyles.
Iris Mittdorfer über Paper or Plastic:
„The question Paper or Plastic is on repeat at supermarket bagging stations throughout the East Coast.
Tune in to hear stories from diverse people who took bold decisions for unconventional lifestyles, sprinkled with an eclectic mix of music, from the East Coast and beyond.“
