Freies Radio Innsbruck – FREIRAD has started developing and executing projects by the European Solidarity Corps (EuSC) in 2020. Since then, EuSC-volunteers have joined our organisation and gotten involved in a wide range of activities. From the designing of radio shows to working in public relations and the coordination of broadcasting programs and projects, there is a lot to learn at FREIRAD. As soon as there is going to be an open position, it will be announced here.
The European Solidarity Corps is a program of the European Union that supports young people aged 18 to 30 in getting involved in community service projects in their own country or abroad.
FREIRAD was awarded the Quality Label by Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalisation OeAD in 2020 and we can therefore host volunteers from Europe in our team. In this way, we can promote intercultural work and commitment even more in our everyday work. In 2020 and 2021, two EuSC-volunteers had the chance to participate and be loud at FREIRAD.
In cooperation with InfoEck, FREIRAD will offer one volunteer the opportunity to work with us at the radio station with the greatest diversity of opinion in Tyrol for the duration of one year. Stay tuned for the next opportunity.
Júlia joined the FREIRAD Team in September 2023 and she will enrich FREIRAD for the next 9 month with her creativity. She will work in different departments and coordinate two shows by herself. One of them will be the „Talking Europe“ show and the other one is a Eurovision Songcontest show. We are super excited that you are here and we are looking forward for the months ahead!
„Hello! My name is Júlia, I come from Spain and I’m the new European Solidarity Corps Volunteer at FREIRAD. Raised in bilingual Catalonia, I always had an appreciation for languages, so learning them became my hobby. As I very much align with the European values, I’ll be coordinating the “Talking Europe” series and creating some intercultural contents as well. As I graduated from Communication and Cultural Industries at the University of Barcelona, I’m glad to be able to contribute to this diverse and inspiring Community Radio in Innsbruck.“
At FREIRAD, there are many new things for volunteers of the European Solidarity Corps to learn: Have you ever been in a real broadcasting studio? How do people get from a simple concept to a real radio show? What is Audacity? And how do community media work in contrast to public as well as private and commercial media? During your EuSC-voluntary service at FREIRAD you can learn all these things.
Filip Malenica and Paweł Masarczyk had the opportunity to join the FREIRAD team in 2020 and 2021 respectively. Here you can read about their impressions and experiences during their time with us.
