Back From The Grave - waren sie schon damals - die 60er Garagebands - als ca. 1974 die Punkwelle ins rockandrollen kam. Nun, ueber! 50 Jahre spater, sind sie erst recht Back aus der Versenkung. Auch hier im jetzt gibt es Bands die gerne so klingen. Echter oder vorgetäuschter Dilettantismus, mal psychodelisch, mal zornig, mal durch die rosa Punkbrille :
Boy meets Girl. Frustration. teen angst. Und ja: Sex, Drugs and RocknRoll.
Vertreten sind hier die legendaren 60s Compilations (aus den 70ern) : Nuggets, Pebbles und eben die Back from The Grave - Serie. Aber auch die Protopunkgeneration aus den 7oern über die Psychobilly 80s bis hin zu der kontemporaren Garage-Revival/ Budget-Rock -Szene. Ein österreichisches Gustostückerl ist dann noch eine Auswahl aus den sehr verdienstvollen compilations : Schnitzelbeat 1 & 2 (KONKORD) sowie den local heroes: The Incredible Staggers (Graz/Wien) und Batman & Robin (Feldkirch/Wien)

Bei den kontemporären tut sich hier vor allem The King Kahn hervor, der die alten 60s Platten - scheints - ausgekocht hat und mit diesem Treibstoff heute noch erfrischend Vollgas gibt.
Diese Musik hört man am Besten laut, im stehen und mit einem Tamborin bewaffnet, das man sich lässig im Rythmus an die Hüfte drescht.
Und trotzdem, irgendwie sympathisch, die meisten Herren hier sind um die 70 Jahre heute...
